This is an experiment to see it if this is the best way to communicate with family about our ancestors. I can post pictures and stories. Maybe some will comment.
I caught the history bug from my father. My obsession with my ancestors began, I'm sorry to say, because of my father after he died. Daddy, who was from Ohio, said he had an ancestor who died in a southern prison during the Civil War but he did not know who it was. Once Ancestry.com got going so did I and now I know who that ancestor was. More on that later.
Most of my ancestors have been in this country since the middle 1700s and possibly some were here in the 1600s. Oddly, many started out in Maryland. After the American Revolution some moved west to Ohio and others came south. I want to follow them to find out who they were, what kind of people they were (good and bad), and anything else I can share. I hope we'll have have fun along the way.
